We had a Creative Social Outreach or CSO
Hanmi and I were the representative in Grade 9.
We wore jeans and the MIT shirt,
We were the youngest grade during CSO.
It was a rainy morning until 12 noon.
So we had to share umbrellas, because there were only a few.
and during our trip to Muntinlupa, we arrived at a place where there are
a lot of small stores on the side of the road.
And the stairs when going down is pretty rough to step in and some of the cement are already cracked and it was slippery.
And the place was actually small, and there are only three tents and all the kids had to
squeezed in with the two tents, and the other tent was for us.
There were loud speakers and awesome music
While Hanmi and I were together, we were just looking at the children
wondering what they do everyday?
So, we observed and We pretty much would say that the children were happy
that they had visitors in the place, from the look from their faces
instead of them, being sad and all
They were glad, happy and excited!
We had games planned for them
We had games like:
- Bring me
- Pino y Hen-yo
and a few more.
We even had a dance showdown!
Ate Monica versus the children
they were pretty skilled dancers and Wow! it made me look clueless. HAHA
Anyways, they were amazing and I danced with three kids one at a time.
And there is this "Guy" who just did a bridge and split!
HAHA! It was funny and exciting to watch all of them perform and all,
but the most awesome part was, when the two kids just had a tough dance battle
if only you could watch it, you'd be like: Whoa!
Then, they were also taught how to do an AMAZING CLAP and a WOW CLAP!
They did pretty well participating and cooperating with us, even though it was really raining hard..
and all of the MIT students are just soaking wet and some already took a bath in the rain, ha ha!
they didn't care after all, we were happy that we did something good for others.
Also, me and Hanmi met this 17 year old girl, her name is Jhemarie. Who is just really friendly and nice.
She just smiles at the both of us, and lend her umbrella when we were just like taking a bath in the rain.
and pretty much my hood was so wet! but just the back though.
And then, there was this little boy, who is pretty strong that me and Hanmi couldn't even resist.
He went to the both of us, and started hugging the both of us
He even made us carry him. HAHA
We were just delighted to be there, and the children was so happy that
they got something for christmas and, a little something is such a big deal for them already.
And there are kids that are just lovely to talk to, even though they don't know how
to speak english, I'd just asked how to say this, and then I say it to them
and they would answer, then they'd smile.
Seeing them smile, is enough for all of us to see
I mean like, we give something and they accept it, because they would be much
glad to have something.
and a lot of kids were pretty much enjoying their time with us.
Ha ha! there was this time, when a little girl approached me and Hanmi
and asked if she could take a picture ^^.
of course, we were a bit "clueless" that she wanted to
so, me and Hanmi looked at each other and froze for a bit. HA ha
Then, we gave out Jollibee and Zest-O to the children
they would say "THANK YOU" when we reached out for the food and drinks
I was assigned for the juice and Hanmi was assigned for giving out straws for the juice.
We would smile to people, because it does feel good, sharing what you have and giving.
And that is what was Christmas is all about.
